Method CME
After allowing many children to participate in TalkTools workshops, Handi-Capable is excited to give some children and their families the opportunity to discover different types of physical exercises in the motor rehabilitation method”CME”. This method was initiated in Chile by physiotherapist Ramon Cuevas more than 40 years ago.
From February 11 to 22, 2019, at the IBIS hotel in Crissier, around 10 children will be able to participate in a specific program given by Jacira Guesser Kruger, CME level 3 physiotherapist since 2014. Jacira currently works alongside Ramon Cuevas in Santiago, Chile.
The CME method
This method of motor rehabilitation has been developed in Chile by Ramon Cuveas, a physiotherapist, since the early 1970s. This method is called Cuevas Medek Exercices. Medek being the Spanish acronym for “dynamic method of motor stimulation”.
This method is intended for children with non-degenerative motor development disorders. It consists of the regular exercise scheduled by the practitioner according to the potential of the child. This method is based on the principle that the brain has the ability to bypass existing lesions to create new learning paths.
A physiotherapy table and a set of boxes are used. Exercises taught around the child allow him to reproduce them at home.
