Welcome to Handi-Capable.org
What's New
Well first off I need to apologize for not updating the web site. I have been so busy and up to other things I’ve just put it off for way too long. Many exciting things have been happening. First things first, like many things in life HCI has been evolving and changing. Through a series of events and because we are not a huge organization we have decided to make our focus a bit more narrow. I have decided to take HCI in a direction that was inspired by the soldiers returning from Iraq. HCI is proud to announce that our direction is now focused on the brave soldiers who have lost limbs in the war. Here is where it gets a little tricky and I can imagine that some people will not take this very well, but I’ve never been one to walk with the crowd so here you have it. Not only is HCI committed to helping the U.S. soldiers but all soldiers throughout the world in all wars. It is part of my philosophy that no one person we focus on should have any more right to achieve dreams than anyone else. That statement is a bit hypocritical in the fact that we are turning our focus to specifically soldiers but I promise you that I will not turn anyone away who needs to talk and needs to know that they can do anything they sent their minds to. I am very encouraged by our new direction and by the fact that I can still help others around the world.
We are also adding a Spanish version of the site so please have a look if you speak Spanish and let me know if I did it right ;-) HAHA
I can only hope that HCI will get to the size where we will be able to broaden our focus back to everyone once again. In the mean time if you have any questions concerns or comments please feel free to email me using the contact us link above.
Kindest regards and may you all realize your dreams,
Dwight Steyn

Please be patient we are in the process of setting up the website and everything
else. ;-)
It's all in the first steps:
Dwight Steyn, the founder of Handi-Capable International, lost his left leg below the knee in
a roll-over car accident. Once at the hospital the doctor's found a blood
clot in his head which caused complications and a term of mortality in the operating
room. This was, according to the doctors, going to cause many extreme physical
and mental problems and inabilities. The doctors were wrong. Once Dwight
was released from the hospital and received his prosthetic leg he started riding
bareback bucking horses in the rodeo and all 3 years qualified for National Finals
and place in the top 20 each time. He has climbed several of Colorado's 14,000
foot peaks and actively scuba dives, skydives, trains horses, and obtained his private
pilot's license. He couldn't have done any of it without the support of friends
and family. He couldn't have done it without taking the first step.
We realize there are many people out there that have been held down by their environment.
Whether they are friends, family, or themselves that hold them down, we here at
Handi-Capable International want to be the friends and family that lift you up. We want
to be your family and help you through the struggles and road blocks that are put
in front of you no matter where they come from. We know, better than most
what it is like to have your dreams crushed by those who say no. But we also
know how to help you achieve and rekindle those dreams. Remember - Nothing
is impossible, the impossible just takes longer.
Some of Dwight's favorite sayings:
"Nothing is impossible, the impossible just takes longer" ~ unknown
"Belief in limitations, creates limited people" ~ unknown
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that
you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.
Discover."
~ Mark Twain
